Catching Up

Last week was the end of the first eight weeks of spring semester. I had forgotten that fact until I heard people worrying about their Horse Nutrition finals. I have been using this week to catch up on my studies in other classes before I begin my internship at Beahr Ridge Arabian Stables in Cedar Falls. Since I didn't have time after Med Term class to really buckle down and study, my grades have slipped and I am barely hanging on. But I am sure that this week will really help me. I have worked really hard and am making some serious progress. On Saturday I will head home for Spring Break, stopping at Beahr Ridge on the way so I can get a couple of hours in and Sylvia, the owner and head trainer, can have a chance to see where I am in my abilities. I hope I make a good impression, but I know that I am a good rider and I REALLY want to get back in the saddle.

Monday, my mom, whom some of you may know on this blog as Hejlikwoman, and I are going to go shopping and it is my birthday. Then on Wednesday, I will leave home to continue my internship since I will not have to worry about going to work afterward. I am so excited to start my internship, and am looking forward to getting a lot of experience out of it.

My job at McDonalds is going steady, I will have to cut hours, but I don't mind. I am pretty much the only person who actually cares about getting the work done first and talking later. I close about every night and the nights that I am supposed to get off early, I normally stay late to help the closers catch up because I actually know what needs to be done. I also do it very neatly instead of just half-assing it just to say it's been done. On Monday, I was so far behind that I didn't get my dishes back until an hour after the store closed. This happened because the girl who got called in just wanted to talk to the manager in between orders instead of asking me what needed to be done. Oh well, hopefully this break is what I need.
